Episode 47 - Drone delivery; and international cross-border returns

Ian Kerr

There's a lot of hype about drone delivery, but are customers ready for drones to drop off their parcels?

The USPS Office of Inspector General researched public attitude towards drone delivery, and the results are intriguing. I talk with Jake Soffronoff, a co-author of the USPS OIG report, and we cover:

  • Public acceptance of drone delivery
  • Are there trust issues?
  • How will implementing drone delivery impact on brand reputation?
  • Difference in attitude across demographics and urban/rural residents
  • Public preconceptions about applications for drone delivery

Will drones be able to handle cross-border returns? In border cities, perhaps! In part two of the podcast, I discuss the new international cross-border parcel returns service launched by France's La Poste in collaboration with Australia Post.
