Finnish postal operator Posti will hire more than 3,000 Christmas helpers for peak season at locations all over Finland. Posti has about 20,000 employees.
(Royal Mail has about 160,000 employees, and will hire 23,000 temporary workers this Christmas. UPS, with 374,000 employees in the USA, will hire 100,000 temporary workers to cope with peak season!)
Temporary workers will be involved in sorting, delivery and transport of letters and parcels. There are also positions at Posti outlets and in customer service.

Posti carried 37 million items during last year’s peak. Parcel volume increased by 9% compared to the previous year and the number of e-commerce parcels grew by more than 15%.
More than 26 million Christmas cards were sent last Christmas in Finland.
Peak season workers are mainly required to be over 18 years old and able to understand Finnish.
