Finnish postal operator Posti has doubled its network of parcel lockers in the space of 12 months, with the 1000th parcel locker set to open at Helsinki Central Railway Station this month.
Approximately one hundred additional pickup points will also be open from 26 November for the peak Christmas season.
Posti’s own shops will have extended opening hours from 24 November, and parcels will be delivered for pickup on weekends.
“We expect the increase in e-commerce to be in two-digit numbers this Christmas. Last year, the number of e-commerce parcels we delivered increased by 15 %. With our network of pickup points, the densest in the country, we can ensure a smooth customer experience even during massive spikes in volume.” - Posti’s CEO Heikki Malinen.
